the little girl inside me cries
wants to run away
but there’s nowhere to run anymore
can’t go hide in my room
it’s your room too
you don’t understand
how your angry bellows
turn me back into that scared little girl
afraid of her dad
you’re not my dad
you’re supposed to love me
be my equal partner
yet you turned on me today
yelling about all my faults
how wrong I’ve done you
why do you want us to stay together
for financial convenience
if you’re so miserable?
