We both knew the time had come for taking a break;
this one, the last and for good. My heart now open
to everything I have inside – your
patient, caring suggestions finally cracked the eggshell
of protection around my heart, and I let both of us in. The
pain and brokenness of me lovingly held over time,
taught me to finally love myself; that is
perhaps the greatest gift of all. Love now feels ripe
for the choosing, my heart once again open,
and I receive the love all around me. I let it fill me up
to overflowing, enough to give to others too, and
at last, as I walk away, I begin to leave
all of those old limitations
exactly where they belong – to
where they no longer haunt me. I leave them to the
past.
